Workshop Overview

We have evolved as social mammals with spoken language, and stories appeal to our feelings, which in turn help us to learn.

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the power of storytelling in science communication, emphasizing how stories can enhance engagement, memory, and impact in research dissemination.

Participants will learn how to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and memorably by applying storytelling techniques to the communication of their science.

Goals of the workshop:

  • Help researchers learn to present their work more effectively by incorporating storytelling elements.

  • Encourage participants to connect with their audience, not just inform.

  • Demonstrate how storytelling enhances scientific communication.

  • Practice introducing themselves and their research in a concise, story-driven way.
