”I think you did a great job considering that it was an online course, so the “practical” part was hard to cover. Having the possibility to cut on travel and hotel expenses was also a great help for me. I liked to have live AND non-live sessions, because I could stop, take notes, listen over and over again to some explanations in the pre-recorded videos: that was really great. It was a pleasure to learn from Greg and John, so different from each other yet equally amazing and great source of inspiration.
Sole was very nice and helpful: despite not meeting in person, I felt like she was indeed there for us all the time to help out. Great appreciation for having the pdf files of the presentations, because it was a lot of information in two weeks, and I definitely need to go back and re-look at many things. to make sure to fix some info and also be able to go back to check on things when needed in the future. ”I attended the workshop on phylogenetic tools conducted by Transmitting Sciences in Gerakari, Crete, Greece from 16th July to 19th July, 2019. It was so far the best workshop that I attended. From well renowned and amazing course instructors, Liam Revell and Luke Harmon to an incredible organizer Harris Saslis. Liam and Luke managed to cover so many important and complex topics in such a small time span with such an ease. They ensured throughout the workshop that each of us learn those skill sets to the fullest and get to utilize them in our ongoing work. They made themselves available to all of us for our queries and doubts. I think I managed to get much more than what I expected of this workshop. Harris as an organizer is remarkable and very humble. From the point of registration to the workshop till the last minute of the workshop, he was constantly helping all of us with the logistics and everything. He personally ensured that we not only have a great learning experience but also get to appreciate and explore the culture of Crete island. The hospitality that he offered was outstanding. Even the participants were all amazing and came from so many different backgrounds that helped me learn the various domains in which these skills could be utilized.
