My name is Haris Saslis. I studied biology in Greece and the UK, and received my PhD in 2011 from the University of Reading. After a series of postdocs in the UK (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew), Australia (Australian National University) and Denmark (University of Copenhagen), I became Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen in 2015. A couple of years later, I made the decision to step out of academia. Since 2017, I have worked as a biodiversity tour leader, freelance biologist, as well as course coordinator and conference convenor with Transmitting Science.
I have trained as a coach through the Association for Coaching (AC) and I am passionate about enhancing career decisions and experiences for academics. My aim as a coach is to help you figure out the direction in which you would like to take your career, and how to achieve that, step by step. My goal is to help academics achieve higher fulfilment in their career, work and personal life.

People turn to career coaching for a variety of reasons. Here are some of the possible reasons why you may want to seek the support of a career coach:
You will meet with your coach for 1:1 dedicated coaching sessions. Each session lasts approximately 75 minutes. During each session, your coach will help you set goals based on different coaching techniques.
Sessions are typically 1-3 weeks apart. You can seek additional support from your coach via email in between sessions.
Your coach will use a mix of impactful, thought-provoking questions, in order to help you define your career goals, plan action steps, and work to achieve them.
You will get the most out of the coaching partnership if you are open to feedback and work on your action plan in between the coaching sessions. The more you put in, the more you’ll get out.
All sessions take place online, on Zoom.
Available hours for coaching sessions are:
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm
Saturday 8:00am to 3:00pm

Transmitting Science started in 2012 to manage specialized courses and workshops we were already organizing within our own partnerships. Up to date, we have already run more than 120 advanced courses in different topics related to Life Sciences.
All the courses are self-financed with participant’s fees and we strive to keep the fees to the minimum necessary for running them.
Our courses cover a wide range of research methods and are aimed at postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers and established academics from all over the world.
