David Katz

In my work, I strive to understand how and why high-dimensional morphology maps to exogenous (evolution, ecology, experimental treatments) and endogenous (genes, developmental mechanisms) biological factors. I study the evolution of human and non-human primate variation, as well as mouse models of craniofacial growth and development. Quantitatively, I assess shape and form variation using methods from the multivariate statistics and geometric morphometrics toolkit, as well as quantitative and evolutionary quantitative genetics strategies.
